Meet the Changemakers

Rose Schweitzer

Bridge Program Coordinator

FUN FACTS

Has a bucket list of great hikes

Dreams of travelling the world while immersing herself in new cultures

Loves all things outdoors

Rose graduated from the University of Iowa in 2024 with a BS in Civil Engineering and a minor in German. It is here where she learned of EIA’s annual build projects. She joined on a West Virginia vehicular bridge project in 2021 and then served as a project manager for the KaZenzele Bridge Project in Eswatini in 2022. Through these projects, she learned more about EIA’s mission of building community-integrated infrastructure to mitigate rural isolation, and the long-term benefits these projects have on the local economy and provision of basic opportunities for the community.

Rose’s best memories are those made outdoors - riding bikes with friends around her small midwest town, family hikes at the local state park, and exploring her grandparents farm.

I wish to live a life well traveled; understand other cultures and perspectives and hike big bucket list trails along the way.
