KaBodali Project
The completion of the bridge over the Mkhomati River brings a safer and easier journey for the community and schoolchildren. Residents can now conveniently access businesses, especially vegetable cooperatives, which will see a boost in customers. Schools (Kuvinjelweni Primary & High), the clinic, churches, agricultural fields, and the shopping center (approximately 2km away) are all within easy reach. The bridge also provides a direct connection to the nearest bus station, opening up travel opportunities.
This eliminates the previous dangers associated with crossing the river, reducing the risk of falls and injuries.

PROJECT
The wait is over! The new suspended footbridge is now open, providing a safe and secure crossing over the Mkhomati River for the Elugubeni community in Nkhaba constituency. This marks the end of the dangerous treks across the river, especially during heavy rains.
Residents of Lugubeni and Kusulukeni can now easily access schools, the clinic, Inkhundla, and Umphakatsi without worry. This improved connectivity will undoubtedly benefit the community, particularly those who are not formally employed.
IMPACT
This new bridge eliminate the dangers of the previous crossing, ensuring a worry-free commute for students heading to Kuvinjelweni Primary and High Clinic. It also provide a safe connection point for those traveling to schools outside the community by bus.
Local leaders are enthusiastic about the project and have pledged to rally the community to establish a long-term maintenance fund. This bridge is more than just concrete and steel – it's an investment in the future of Kuvinjelweni's students!
