2022: university of Alberta
Throughout the construction of the Quinamara Pedestrian Bridge in Bolivia, the Alberta team consistently adhered to high safety standards - even when faced with unfamiliar situations during the build.
2021: University of Southern Indiana
While travel was not permitted due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, the chapter at the University of Southern Indiana demonstrated exemplary understanding of safety practices while on-campus.
2020: University of Iowa
While travel was ultimately cancelled due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, the Iowa chapter engaged effectively with safety materials and protocols during the project preparation process for Villa Florida.
2019: University of Alberta
The University of Alberta team demonstrated strong safety practices throughout the construction of the Humapirhua Project - in spite of three-tier abutments on both sides of the river, making safety practices ever more challenging but important.
2018: University of Colorado Boulder
The University of Colorado Boulder chapter built a bridge in Chosco, Bolivia and practiced exemplary safety practices throughout the build. Personal protective equipment was worn at all times and in-depth discussions were had amongst the team and community members during any dangerous activity.
2017: University of Colorado Boulder
The University of Colorado Boulder chapter had few incidents and near misses on site and implemented a novel tethering system for fall protection while building 3-tier abutments. They also developed a new fall rescue plan.
