Arianna Bordogna-Jurkowitz

Arianna is the 2024 EIA Bridge Program Fellow in Bolivia. She is a recent graduate of the University of Notre Dame, where she majored in Environmental Engineering and minored in Energy Studies. She first became involved with EIA as a sophomore working with Notre Dame’s EIA student chapter. Over three years Arianna served on three unique projects in Bolivia, becoming Project Manager for the team’s 2023 project in Kea Kea. Beyond her work with EIA, while at Notre Dame Arianna’s passion for sustainable and resilient community-based infrastructure engineering brought her to work on the design of a gravity-based drinking water storage and distribution system for a small community in coastal Ecuador and on the Structural Extreme Events Reconnaissance (StEER) Response Team for the 2021 Nippes Earthquake in Haiti.

Arianna is a dual Italian-American citizen who lived and studied for 6 months at the Pontificia Universidad Católica in Santiago, Chile. Having lived and worked in several countries and cultures, she is motivated by the interpersonal connection and cultural immersion integral to the EIA’s work.
